    for an unusual use

    I purchased this product for an unusual purpose. I keep tropical fish and sometimes fish come down with incurable illness. In researching ways to humanely kill fish, the most highly recommended method is by using a prescription drug, but the second most recommended method is to first put them to sleep and then overdose them with clove oil. Clove oil used to be available at most drugstores for treating toothache, but an alcohol solution of Benzocaine is now used for that. The benzocaine would euthanize the fish, but the alcohol would cause them pain as they die. The clove oil kills them painlessly. I tried it on a group of fish with deformed spines and it worked like a charm. Ending the life of a sick pet is hard under any circumstances, but at least I now have a way to do it ...

    I'm very pleased with clove oil. Used a little on q-tip for toothache and abscess tooth pain. It stopped pain immediately! Make sure not to ingest this oil!!!

    advertising is a little deceiving ,small print reveals oil is also made from clove seeds , not just the leaves , still a good buy for the price .
