When attaching a high speed, external SSD with the MVE format the speeds are not quite as fast as direct to a thunderbolt 4 port on the computer: 10% drop on reads and a 35% drop on writes when using 3100mbps. with medium speed 1000-2000 Mbps no difference. Other devices that require a thunderbolt port work perfectly.. an excellent value from this seller.

Just what my ThinkPad Yoga Gen6 needed to supplement a ThinkPad 40AN docking station which is TB3. You can daisy-chain TB hubs. It connects to the laptop & the 40AN connects to one of the 3 USB-C ports. Only need to connect one TB4 port on the laptop. I use magnetic plugs to avoid damage to the TB4 laptop ports.
