Everyone’s been gushing at the pictures we’ve taken, I will say, a crack underneath the screen and to the SIM card/battery latch that appeared immediately after I opened the package, but that probably was my fault.       Great features for the price

      This is a great switch considering the features vs cost. The price I paid for this (new condition) managed switch is about half of the cost of a new UNmanaged Cisco at the same speed and number of ports. Procurve switches are known to be solid switches, and this one has a lifetime warranty. This switch is fanless and wall- or rack-mountable. One caveat, is that they recommend against wall-mounting the switch with the ports sideways... only facing up or down. As a managed switch, it supports VLANs, link aggregation, QoS, and port mirroring, but not much else. Management-wise it does SNMP and LLDP. It also has some energy saving features (802.3az and port low power mode). It's essentially a department level switch which can minimally participate in your core network. It also works wells as ...
