    At first, I thought the packaging was awful, but when I got the outside box off I noticed how well the player was insulated. A large amount of bubble wrap was around the player and secured very nicely. The item was very clean for an older used player also. It works great and I thoroughly tested it myself. This seller is honest and I would buy from them again. The outside was probably so bad looking because the Post Office is the absolute worst at delivering packages. Buy from this seller!

    Unit was shipped on time, packed like it was going to be air dropped in a war zone without a parachute, best packing I've ever seen in 50+ years of mail ordering things. Unit has chipped corner, which was clearly shown in photos, boots perfectly. However the CD/DVD drive tray door is missing and the only way to eject is within the software. Contacted seller and asked "what do you have in mind to make this right?" Answer "How about a partial refund?" I asked "How much, never heard back."

    its easy to set up and i found out after a bunch of recorded blank CD's,, you have to buy the ones that say on them AUDIO CD,, them are the only kind that work. HAPPY RECORDING !!!

    HAS GOOD + BAD CHARACTERISTICS WHILE FILLING A GENUINE NEED, PURPOSE

    This model CD recorder was apparently quite popular in its time. When it's functioning normally, it's great. However, I suspect there is something not right about how it was designed and constructed, leaving many to fail prematurely, with their owners unloading them on ebay and elsewhere. Of three that I have purchased, ALL of them had to visit the repair shop before I could use them normally - a win/lose situation.

    Great CD Recorder

    While Philips invented the CDR and this model was the first and easiest to use compared to subsequent models, they have inflexible programming and wear out under heavy use. But these units are 40 years old!

    Great for recording to cd from various sources, easy to use

    I have gone through two RCA recordable cd players. Neither seemed to work properly for long. Who knows how long this Philips version will last, but so far, it seems more durable.
