    Durable...with a caveat.

    This is the third MDS-JE480 that i own. It has excellent features such as LP recording and playback capabilities. The only issue I've found with these decks (and most Sony minidisc decks) is the loading mechanism. As these machines age the loading mechanism won't eject the disc due to the loading belt losing its elasticity and stretching out. Fortunately, there are Youtube videos that address this issue, and it's quite an easy fix. There are vendors that sell replacement loading belts for these decks and it only takes about ten minutes to replace, tops. I've ordered and replaced the belts on my decks and they all work good as new.

    RATE AND REVIEW SONY Mini Disc Deck MDS-JE480 Player Recorder Audio Digital Analog MDLP

    The remote does not really adjust the sound. Sound is the only problem so far, need to get it set up with CD player to record on it. Need y adapters for speakers want to share speakers for stereo and minidisc recorder. I think it will be great.
