I purchased an item worth over £600. After payment, the seller claimed he would lose £80 in fees and wanted to refund me instead not my problem. Why list an item if you’re not willing to cover the costs? I asked him to cancel the order properly, he refused and told me to open a case myself very rude and unprofessional. In the end, I had to contact eBay support to get my money back.

That was described on the listing. Contacted eBay who said this is a policy violation and that the seller should invoice me, and it is against their policies to just pocket the cash like this.
