      • All things are not created equally

As manufacturers find ever more creative ways to lower costs and increase profits, quality seems to be the consistent thing to suffer from such a mind set. Not so with this valve. PF designed and built this valve not only to last but also to install easily. With a triangular or non-standard hole arrangement, this tub valve is the one to get. The mating faucet uses two O-rings to seal to the vertical tube and the seal is perfect. An internal-wrenching (Allen) screw secures both the faucet and handles. If you have a large tub to fill, 1/2" lines can be directly connected to the NPT valve body threads for high-volume flow, something I did in my garden-tub installation. A bath used to take over 10 minutes to fill and now it takes less than half that time. And adding water to adjust the ...

      • Pfister makes products for the do it yourselfer

If like my home, yours was built during the 80's, you may find a lot of builder grade Pfister and Delta bathroom fixtures in your home but updating need not be a huge investment if you shop wisely and are a bit handy or have a reasonable handy man as there are decently priced options for upgrading older Pfister with newer Pfister parts such as this Roman tub rough in. Not hugely difficult to install unless you decide to solder the rough in and can be found at decent prices online. Also, the rough in is pretty compatible with most Pfister handles especially when updating from the old stems that are compatible with only the Windsor acrylic or metal Verve ones!

      • Right product, wrong fittings

This is for a new install, not a retrofit. For retro, you need a different T connector, and it's not easy to find. Anyway patiently waiting for the part to come in, and the install to be finally over.

      • Should have bought the American Standard.

I usually love Price Pfister products but this faucet is a royal pain. If I buy a faucet it should have all the parts necessary to put together. I hate building a working faucet out of kits. Do Not Buy. Find a complete faucet from another brand.
