    Built like a battleship. A bargain performer.

    For folks looking for inexpensive 8- or 12-core total systems, the T610 and its rack-mounted cousin the R610 are a very good buy, I've found them to be as reliable as a brick. Ensure you get one with a good RAID card (H700), put a few enterprise SATA SSDs in it (RAID0, 1 or 10 NOT 5 or 6, otherwise you'll accelerate SSD cell-write exhaustion), and you've got a great little performer. OK, not so little. This thing is big. One thing to note: the T610 is HEAVY. It's built like a battleship, but will be good exercise to move around (70 pounds). Don't hurt your back!
