    Not pro

    Everyone lists the usb mbox on ebay as the pro. The pro version is firewire. How are there so many stupid people that dont even know what interface they are using/ selling? This generation of interfaces works fine. Sounds fine and is a great way to learn protools. When u decide to charge for studio time you must upgrade.

    Hi Freq Noise Issue

    This is a great way to get into Pro Tools without spending a lot of $$. There is an issue I have seen a lot on the internet which I also discovered - a high frequency noise when the box is activated. It comes out the audio out ports and is a definite no-no on your audio tracks. I saw a video on UTube advocating soldering a ground wire to the circuit board. I recommend that you do not do this. There is a reason why audio circuits are isolated from ground - it improves the signal to noise ratio. If you ground the audio circuit you will decrease your audio performance. The real issue with the mbox is a ground loop issue. I had the problem initially on this box because my computer which powered the box was connected directly to the wall circuit while my audio was going through an amp ...
