comfortable knee protection
The unique design of these pads allows someone to wear them all day long during high periods of activity without falling down or becoming uncomfortable. They do not have much padding on them which is the reason for the lower rating. While kneeling on soft dirt these were quite adequate for use for long periods. For use on concrete or other hard surfaces or on uneven sharp surfaces, they would not protect as well as other designs with more padding or a harder front surface. Not gel pads
I bought the thinking that they were going to have a pretty decent cushion on the knee pad. When I got them and used them at work my knees were still sore. I have bad knees and I am 33yrs old. Hoping these would help with what I do (remodel kitchens and bathrooms). They are easy to use which is a good thing and they have that modern/cool look to them but I was more worried about the comfort. I've been in menards, home depot and Lowe's and could have bought a slightly cheaper pair with more cushion. Oh well, you live and you learn. I guess I got bamboozled on this buy. Inadequate padding. Very narrow for knee. looks great in person but not functional. Better off buying husky knee pads from home depot.

Not What I Expected...
I bought these kneepads needing them for work in tile construction since I am on my knees all day. I have had other kneepads for much cheaper in the past, so I thought that these $60 kneepads would be much better and healthier for my knees. I am extremely disappointed in these kneepads. My knees hurt more than ever. The gel in them is hard and it feels like I am kneeling on concrete.

light weight but not enough padding
Used them a full day. The good part was they never slide. I do roofs and I'm constantly on my knees. The padding wasn't enough and hurt my knees after awhile. The other knee pads I own have a harder cover and I don't feel the pain but they constantly slide down. I'm going to be using this product more just because I can't stand having to pull my old ones up every 30 minutes.
