Astonishingly good price, autosetup cameras (plug and go), H.265 video means ~2X HDD time capacity over H.264. NVR is a linux box. Negatives: on China time one day ahead of US, haven't figured out how to tweak it yet. Must purchase and install your own HDD, which is trivial but still a nuisance. For best life, purchase a brand new drive intended for surveillance use such as WD Purple series. They're made for 24/7 service and will outlast anything for a PC. Another nuisance: the system is capable of 8 cameras but I bought a 4 camera set. Looks like mine are 5/6/7/8 meaning I have to use the 8 cam setup with 4 blank channels rather than just displaying the first four. Grrrr... Still experimenting with this system, haven't tested the internet & smartphone access yet. Note that cameras are ... The overall quality of this camera system is amazing for the price. The picture is super clear during the day and night. It does record video, as it says as long as you set the timer. Installation is super easy. The app for Android devices was a bit of a problem at first, but after I got use to it I love it.
