The Lee universal case expanding die see...

The Lee universal case expanding die seems to be "universal" for all case neck diameters but that makes it kind of crude on the way it operates. It uses cones to expand the case mouths and not a stepped mandrel like rcbs makes for each caliber. The step up on the mandrel causes the case mouth to expand and flare. I haven't tried the Lee expander yet and.it may work fine, just use to what I have gotten from rcbs.

  • As with most of LEE reloading they just keep getting better with no problems

Have used it several times found nothing wrong should of bought long ago will get a lot of good use. easy to adjust for use. works good on rifle pistol brass.makes loading much easier I would say if you reload you need a Lee case expanding die!!!!

  • Excellent product

I highly prefer to have all of my bullets just barely sit on top of the case before seating, like many handgun die sets expander allow and most rifle die sets do not allow. This Lee expander works extremely well on my 223 and 30 caliber cases.

  • Universal neck expanding Die

I like Lee products, and this one is no exception. The price is right, and it works quite well, at least as well as the high-priced versions. You'll need to take your time to make sure that your getting just the right amount of case flare, but once it's set up, it works just fine. This die makes loading cast bullets into rifle cases much easier and helps to eliminate lead-shaving. If you load cast bullets, this is the ticket.

  • Does it's job when set up properly

This is not for everyone. If you are loading any kind of cast based bullets this is pretty much a must have. It basically flares the case mouth out slightly so the seating process doesn't damage the bullet or it's coating. It takes a bit of fiddling around to get it set up right but after that it's definitely good to go. I would recommend putting your case in the shell holder and putting it up as far as it can go without the die in the hole. After that screw the die in until the correct expander is touching the case and then adjust from there.
