Worth upgrade for Mac Pro 6,1 2013

This processor is the best for Mac Pro 2013. I upgraded my Six core to this 10-Core. It's best for usual tasks and some heavy apps that uses multi core. 12-Core 2.7Ghz is actually slower in regular apps because it has slower speed in Single-Core tasks. Highly recommended upgrade for every Mac Pro 6,1 2013

a good upgrade if you are increasing frequency

I got this processor hoping the increased numbers of cores would improve my video rendering even though the frequency is 10% slower than what I had before. It turns out that I think my 6 core 3.3 gigahertz i7 processor renders videos faster than this10 core 3GHz processor. Windows may run a very slight bit faster, but I can really not tell. For me, this was not a useful upgrade. However someone has started for me slower processor. It will definitely be faster and there plenty of Xeon processors available purses the similar aged i7's and i5's.

  • E5-2690 V2 upgrade in my Z820 worked without issue!

I have an older Z820 with 2x Xeon E5-2670 processors installed. I noticed the prices of the E5-2690 V2s were cheaper than what I spend on dinner and decided to purchase 2x E5-2690 V2 to max out the processing power of the Z820 (any higher would require water cooled heatsinks). The processors from this vendor shipped out earlier than expected and they worked right off the bat without any issues with my Z820.

  • Solid performance upgrade

This is a great way to increase the multi core performance of your machine if it accepts this chip. Relatively easy to swap out. Remember to buy some good quality thermal paste. Remove all old thermal paste with 90% rubbing alcohol and apply the new thermal paste when installing this or any replacement CPU.

  • Great prosessors at a good price

Absolutely worth the upgrade, much better value overall than the 12 core big brother that is much more expensive
