    Quite Well Done Once It Gets Going! Scary at times!

    The Chair is one of those films you just have to be in the mood to watch. It starts slow and stays that way almost up until the end. The script is quite hard to swallow, but it makes up for it at the end. Somewhat disturbing elements of this film's story-line don't really begin to show up until Daniel becomes possessed. I'll give this film a 3/5 because I finished it all the way through wondering what was going to happen next and how it would end. A very interesting film concept with good young actors. This is definitely worth a peek but don't start watching if you are tired and want to go to sleep, because you probably will not make it past the first 7 chapters. I bit repetitive and almost didn't get off the ground or out of the editing room. If you like my reviews, please don't ...

    Chilling without gore or special effects.

    This is not your typical low-budget horror film. The acting is excellent and the characters' behavior is sensible. Genuinely scary without gore or special effects. It seems to start off slow, because Danielle has a history of schizophrenia and has not been taking her medicine. Therefore, when Danielle reports strange noises in her new house, her sister Anna is concerned; but she fears Danielle is delusional, not that the house is haunted. The fear level ratchets up when Danielle finds the chair --- not an electric chair --- see for yourself how creepy it is. The only dumb move in an otherwise intelligent film is when Anna threatens to call the police --- and she obviously SHOULD --- but doesn't. Up until now Anna has proved to be so intelligent and resourceful that this omission seems ...
