Solid little radio
This boombox, and the dozen or so similar models Sony released around the same time, are decent quality workhorses which have stood up to time. The sound is all mids, and the "Mega Bass" is overblown mid-bass, but that's what you should expect from a late 90s boombox. You're going to be using this thing while working on the car or cooking up some meat on the barbecue, not for critical listening. To its credit, this boombox will get quite loud before getting too distorted. The CD/Cassette combo is obviously dated, but pop in a cassette adapter and you now have aux in or even bluetooth! The FM tuner is actually quite good and sensitive enough to pick up weaker stations. the remote, if you can find one (RMT-CV35A for black, RMT-CV35AW for white.) it a nice-to-have but not ... A great vintage boombox
This CD player has a great sound. I was specifically looking for one of Sony's older models as I think they sound better than newer versions (of any brand). It didn't come with a remote but I bought one separately. I'm very happy with this purchase.

Loud and clear sound
This is the best in its class from Sony. The sound is loud, clear, and mega bass. Sony made several models similar to this one in appearance many years ago. The latest model made several years ago, which one can buy online easily, is inferior to old vintage models in sound quality.
