In 1976, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, and a few other artists recorded a concert special for national television at the Tennessee State Prison in Nashville. released on DVD and CD under the name A Concert Behind Prison Walls. The CD version also includes two extra songs that were recorded that evening, but did not make the final television cut. A Concert Behind Prison Walls is one of only two prison performances that Cash recorded for television. Johnny Cash is the headlining artist on the DVD, but less than half of the performances are his. Roy Clark and Linda Ronstadt are also featured, and comedian Foster Brooks. Cash does play first last. You can't dislike Johnny Cash, Linda Ronstadt, Foster Brooks, Carl Perkins, or the Tennessee Three - Cash's backup band. A very young Linda performs here, Foster does his drunk routine, and Carl performs as only he can do. And yes, the song Folsom Prison Blues is also here.
