About this product

    Product Information

Visual Concepts' pro basketball series enters its tenth season with NBA 2K9. As usual, the game features the league's players, teams, and venues, according to the rosters and statistics of the contemporary season. The long-running series is known for a distinct blend of realism and playability. Building upon the previous year's releases, 2K9 aims to retain that feel, while adding a few tweaks and perks. Several new Signature Styles have been added for more player-specific custom animations, and the new Hot Zone feature uses real-life NBA data to judge a player's best shot locations and give real-time, in-game feedback about shot possibilities as he moves around the floor.

For gamers who take their consoles online, the most significant addition in NBA 2K9 will be its "Living Rosters" feature. Similar to the news-feed influences of EA Sport's "Player DNA" functions, NBA 2K9 updates in-game player statistics throughout the 2008-2009 season, according to the performances of the real-life NBA players. Some players may gain strength for successes in certain areas while others may lose ability points by not living up to their perceived potential, and outstanding performances may be translated into new Signature Moves, which are downloaded and added into the game. Although these player changes are inspired by statistics based on real-life performances, they are mitigated by a human element in the process: The otherwise anonymous "2K Insider" is purported to have final say as to which changes are passed along to players each online update.

Another notable addition to the series' "Association" franchise mode involves the new Player Ambition statistic. There are three basic ambitions in the game -- money, loyalty, and winning -- and each player in the league is motivated by a blend of the three. A player motivated primarily by money may quickly sign with the highest bidder, while players with other motivations may take a lower paycheck in order to play for a familiar franchise or a team with strong playoff possibilities. When the trading is done and it's time to hit the court, Kevin Harlan returns to call the action, joined by NBA 2K series newcomers Clark "Special K" Kellogg in the booth and Cheryl Miller on the sidelines.

Nice piece of history; radio is in good condition; the box is nice to have but is deteriorating as indicated in the listing. Seller did a good job of wrapping the items and shipping them promptly. Thanks very much.

The radio's reception was not as described by the seller... The radio was so far out of alignment it could only receive one of my four local stations, and completely unable to receive any other, including my two best/nearest stations... When I attempted to discuss this with the seller, the seller became unpleasant and unwilling to discuss anything other than a return... I'm keeping the radio because they're so rare... It required a recap, realignment, and tuning cap cleaning to fix... $$$$...

DESPITE A CLEAR DESCRIPTION OF MY RADIO'S WORKING CONDITION -- INCLUDING A VIDEO OF IT WORKING & PRE-SALE MESSAGING ABOUT ITS FLAWS -- THIS BUYER COMPLAINED AFTER RECEIVING THE ITEM ABOUT THE RADIO'S PERFORMANCE AND -- INSTEAD OF ACCEPTING AN OFFER TO RETURN THE RADIO -- KEPT IT BECAUSE ITS "SO RARE" BUT STILL LEFT NEGATIVE FEEDBACK. IN RETROSPECT & BASED ON THIS SCENARIO AND THE FEEDBACK ITSELF ("$$$$"), BUYER WAS FISHING FOR AN UNJUSTIFIED PARTIAL REFUND.

Like the seller's listing misrepresentations in which the seller's description was materially inaccurate, the seller's response to my clear, fair, and objective feedback is nothing more than vague absurdities which appear to be intended to distract attention away from the sellers inaccurate description... The seller also desperately posted a negative buyer's review disguised with a positive rating, which violates eBay feedback policy... The seller's unpleasant response is unfortunate...

    • A few problems to note about the game

a few things i dislike about this game 1) I made a 3 pointer with shaq on his 3rd attempt against the lakers. This shouldnt happen 2) NPC teammates tend to forget that they need to play defense after a completed offensive play. 3) If you fake shoot (different than pump-fake), the npc players of the defense rush toward the shooting player, leaving a few offensive players open on the inside. Almost every time you pass while in the processes of shooting, you will receive the ball wide open in the paint. Just another example of Bad AI. 4) the B button is supposed to call for a pick but I've only been able to do spin moves and special routes to the basket with it. Else, the game is pretty fun to play with your friends when the real NBA games start getting old. Still a great game.

    • Not all that it's hyped up to be

When first purchasing this game, I thought that this would be a major step up from 2k8 and it's slight issues (frequent layup misses, sloppy Defense, etc). But once I got this game, i realized how much of a step DOWN it was. THey make TOO many layups, Yao and Mcgrady are LITERALLY unstoppable in this game taking into account that with so many made layups, Yao has the best chance since he's at LEAST 6 inches taller than every man on the court, the gameplay seems too arcade, and most of all, the free throw difficulty is COMPLETELY unrealistic. All in all, i say stick with 2k8 if you want a nice, quality, realistic game with actual missed layups (like kirk Henrich and his missed layup in Game 6 of the bulls-celts series). Take my advice, DO NOT BUY THIS GAME UNTIL IT GOES DOWN TO $10 when the ...

    • NBA 2K9

The undisputed NBA franchise is back for its 10th season. Last year, NBA 2K8 was the top selling basketball game on Xbox 360 and the NBA 2K series has been the #1 rated NBA simulation for seven years running. NBA 2K9 is the premier basketball game for serious players, and will deliver the most realistic, stylistic, and feature-rich simulation experience ever available in the NBA 2K franchise – from game play to graphics, presentation and online features.

    • The perfect example of how to make a horrible game

This is easily one of the worst games ever made. Everything that is fundamental in the sport of basketball is absent from this game. Your AI teammates are so stupid and useless, it literally make me sick sometimes, and makes you feel like you're playing 1 vs. 5 the entire game. The game has the exact same gameplay issues that made NBA 2K8 such a digraceful game. Also, it has bugs/glitches that weren't even in NBA 2K8. No thought was put into this game and I seriously believe that the employees at Visual Concepts (the developers of this series) are mentally challenged. Playing against computer is a horrible and pointless experience. Every team plays exactly the same, they all run the same plays, and they play near-perfect defense (even if their defensive awareness attributes are low). If ...
