It's quality surprised me. Used it successfully on a steel shaft.
It's not the best German engineering, but I didn't expect that in this price range. It's quality did surprise me. I was hoping not to get something that broke as soon as I tried it. That was a low bar. I used the die to re-thread a very damaged steel shaft of a clock movement. The tap worked just as well on the steel nut. Use lots of oil and take your time and realize how small the tools are. It's not a 3/8" X 16, so take it easy for insured success. I highly recommend this set for what it is.
