  • Can we read it again?

The story is classic and not about the Headless Horseman but the love triangle between Ichabod Crane, Brom Bones and the beautiful, rich, fashionista Katrina Van Tassel. The illustrations are so appropriate and help communicate the mood of the story. Fourth grade students acquire a deeper understanding of this great piece of seasonal literature.

  • Wonderfully told Halloween story rewritten for younger children.

There are a lot of nice illustrations. Nicely retold story for small children. Large size book.

  • Great retelling of an Irving clasic!

I just love Will Moses' folk art and the way he wrote the story in colonial English!

  • Captures the essence of the story!

Altho' I am not a fan of primitive art, I feel as tho' Will Moses has truly captured the essence and feel of the Hudson River Valley, as it was nearly 200 years ago. It goes without saying that the Legend of Sleepy Hollow is a classic ghost story, and the paintings truly reflect the text. A head's-up: While adhering to Washington Irving's classic tale, it should be mentioned that this text is a summary/retelling of the Legend. But it stays true to the original tale.
