Wooden Nickel recordings
Styx original 4 albums have some undiscovered gems on them. I had to have this set for "Golden Lark, Man of Miracles, lies, A day, The grove of Eglantine", to mention a few. It is nice to have all 4 albums in one collection. The drawbacks of the cd itself: The digital recording is poor. It jumps, scratches and has a hollow stuffy sound. Being in the possession of the RCA Victor cassette tape of Man of Miracles, I can make a decent comparison between the two: RCA Victor's cassette has a clearer, cleaner sound which plays the songs a twinge faster. I also have the original album of Styx greatest hits. The songs are not only clearer, but have a full sound, not as hollow and jumpy as this offering. The album is worth a purchase only if you do not own the original albums, cassettes or the 1990 ... Styx original 4 albums have some undiscovered gems on them. First four Styx albums
The sound quality was excellent. These recordings were very good despite this early period of the band's development.

Early Styx Rocks.
I was looking for Styx 2 but the prices people were looking for was way to high. Styx second album was what got interested in the band and is one of my favorites. It also has one of my favorite two song by the band, Lady. On the CD, the album begins with You Need Love. This CD was a very easy choice to make. I not only got the album I wanted, but also 3 other ones at a great price. If you are hugh Styx fan like me, it is a must have.I was looking for Styx 2 but the prices people were looking for was way to high. the missing albumn
This was a compilation of the early years mixed with later trends. the music was all pure Styx and a great addition to an already large collection of music. Some of the titles I had never heard before and it was like hearing something new from an old favorite band. Again a great addition to my collection. a must for any Styx fan or follower

4 albums on one cd
It's so nice to get all of Styx's first 4 albums on one cd along with the bonus 'unfinnished song'. One disadvantage is you don't get the cool artwork on the cover sleeves of the original albums. Also, if you wear out one CD, you wear out 2 albums (2 cd set each with 2 albums. Not styx's best albums as those would come in their next 4 (sold seperatly). Kurt
