Product Information

Indigo Tea Shop owner Theodosia Browning is finally invited to a social event that she doesn't have to cater--but there's more than champagne bubbling... Theo is mingling with the cream of Charleston society at the engagement soiree of the season. But as they eagerly await the dazzling young couple's arrival--the groom meets with a freak accident. The exquisite wedding ring--a family heirloom from the crown of Marie Antoinette--is mysteriously missing. Theodosia suspects that trouble is brewing. But when she goes to the authorities, they treat her like she's been reading tea leaves--and that's the surest way to put Theodosia's kettle on the boil...

  • SHADES OF EARL GREY: Another Fun Cozy Tea Shop Mystery

What's not to like about a mystery wherein one of the suspects peddles his (possibly ill-gotten?) goods on internet auction sites? The author doesn't specifically say "eBay", but it's a close enough reference for me to review this fun, readable, cozy whodunit. "Shades of Earl Grey" is the third in Laura Childs' popular Tea Shop Mysteries, and it doesn't disappoint. Lots of luscious goodies are served at the Blue Indigo Tea Shop, much interesting tea is drunk by all, and there are plenty of atmospheric descriptions of the book's setting: Charleston, South Carolina. This time around, the dead body is the would-be groom of the niece of Tea Shop owner Theodosia Browning's good friend, Delaine Dish, the exceedingly well-dressed owner of the chi-chi Cotton Duck boutique just a few doors down ...

  • Shades of Eart Grey by Laura Childs

Thoroughly enjoy all Thedosia Browning's exploits. This book was no let down. Her characters are all so real and her description of the town is so real that you can close your eyes and see it all as in a movie. A quick, but wonderful read. Laura Childs is one of my favotire authors. At present I am half way through reading her 2009 book "OOLONG DEAD"and she has stayed true to form. YOU GO GIRL. WONDERFUL READING & THANKS ALOT

  • Shades of Earl Grey

Theodosia is attending an engagement party hosted by Delaine Dish, for her niece. A crash from the next room stops everyone where they stand. The cause is a huge hole in the glass ceiling, and below this the groom is lying dead. Missing is the valuable engagement ring. A few days later at the Historical Society, a guard is attacked during another robbery. Theo wonders if a cat burglar is on the prowl. She has a tough time convincing the police. Theo strikes out on her own to prove her theory. This series brings out the beauty of Charleston and the Historical district. This book has a little more drama than Ms. Child's other books, but all are delightful cozy reads not to be missed.

  • Loved the tea shop series

I bought this because the price was right and I've actually read a library copy of all of these and I am currently trying to collect them for myself. I love these books. I consider this one of the best of the cozy mystery series and this particular one is great. I've loved them all and can't wait to get them all. Definitely worth purchasing for your own personal library.

  • Another great Charleston story...

I love the stories on Charleston and all the tidbits on tea. Laura Childs writes in the manner of taking the reader on a trip through the streets of Charleston. You can smell the tea brewing! I hope Ms. Childs continues with the Tea Shop books. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.
