The cord is very soft and light, compared to my lowrance unit. So when I put the reinforcement plastic tripod on the ducer I also taped it on to make it more solid, since two preteen boys would be using it at times. So far has stood up to them, and is working great.

Humminbird Xi920 -Not as good as i thought
My helix 5 worked badly through the ice with the original transducer. i thought that buying the ice-ducer would improve the performance but it has not. The flasher mode is pretty useless with poor target separation and small cone angle. i have been sight fishing in 9 feet of water and see how much it misses. Playing with the settings only results in minor improvements. In regular fishing mode or in real time mode split screen the unit performs a little better , but still has some serious issues in sensitivity and bottom lock . When you change baits or depth , you have to readjust settings and many times it will not pick up fish on bottom when i can clearly see them. . I have had several ice fishing units and right now i prefer my old Lowrance m68 . Set it once and fish . I still like the ...
