    Absolutely Engaging

    It's Smoke Time includes the LPs original 12 tracks along with 14-bonus cuts. The music itself? Well, there's not a stinker here. Of course, you may well recognize the classic "My Friend Jack" (UK #45), but other songs, especially the lovely "Waterfall," should have been hits. The CD will sneak up on you with its laidback, subtle approach. Engaging? Absolutely. Is the band woefully under-appreciated? Absolutely. The album contains cuts from the band's various names, The Shot, The Smoke and Chords Five (in the late 60s the band apparently alternated releases under The Smoke and Chords Five names). Text though 24 cuts. Scant but interesting liner notes. 26 tracks. 70:33.
