Terry Goodkind Series
This book was a gift to my son. He loves all Terry Goodkind books and is now reading the 5th in the series. Sword of Truth is one of best he said he's read. He recommends for anyone who loves fiction, action packed, etc..

I really enjoy this collection of books as a whole... When I see them on a shelf I will often choose one of these epics for an low intensity read. Full of ethical debating and social conflicts mixed in with epic travel, magic and conflict, involving Richard Cypher(Rahl) and Kalan, these are a good choice for an enjoyable easy read. This is the second of a series called the "Sword of Truth" books. I would recommend them for upper teens and older as there are some concepts and moral conditions touched upon in these books that are unsuitable for individuals that could misunderstand the authors true intentions and use of graphic abuse, gore and torture. Otherwise, These books read very easily and rarely go into long pontification. This individual book I found to be a bit long and drawn out for ... If you liked the first book, you'll probably like this one too. It has the same sexy sword and spell tone and the same focus on Richard and Kahlan's intense and angsty romance. It also has the same flaws. Overall, Stone of Tears is not very well constructed. Whenever Goodkind writes himself into a corner, some new magical spell or beastie that we've never heard of before shows up as a plot point ex machina. There's also a lot of sleaze. It isn't that the story involves sex, rape, violence and other prurient elements so much as that sex, rape and violence are slathered in on top of the plot for cheap thrills. The characters come off as types, and not particularly well-written types: Rachel is the Piteous Little Girl, etc., etc. Do NOT pick up this book expecting a universe that ... Stone of Tears Review
This book is well written. You can really "see" what the author writes, you can visualize everything. The plot isnt what you would have expected either, there are twists and turns that leave you guessing as to what will happen next. It was a great sequel to Wizards First Rule. I decided to buy this book because Wizards First Rule was so well written and I just had to see if Richard and Kayla were able to get together. I had absolutely no dislikes about the book at all. Infact I went ahead and bought the next three books in the series.This book is well written. You can really "see" what the author writes, you can visualize everything. Goodkind really keeps readers involved and anxious with his descriptive, and intriguing writing style. I have literally stayed up for hours trying to find out what happens next. Truly an original piece of work, filled with a whole new world full of new creatures and new ideas, morals, and moral decisions. He gives great depth to his characters without boring you to death with insignificant details.
