About this product

Product Information

Originally published anonymously, The Federalist Papers first appeared in 1787 as a series of letters to New York newspapers exhorting voters to ratify the proposed Constitution of the United States. Still hotly debated, and open to often controversial interpretations, the arguments first presented here by three of America's greatest patriots and political theorists were created during a critical moment in our nation's history, providing readers with a running ideological commentary on the crucial issues facing democracy. Today The Federalist Papers are as important and vital a rallying cry for freedom as ever. This edition features the original eighteenth-century text, with James Madison's fascinating marginal notations, as well as a complete text of the Constitution.

I am 72 years old and still find the print clear and easy to read. I only wish that Americans cared enough to read and understand the wisdom, thought, and care that went into the birth of this nation.

Handy paperback of the Federalist Papers. Amazing history from 250 years ago as our founders debated how to form our representative government.

  • It’s everything I expected. The small font is my only concern. I recommend it to everyone. The young people are forgetting and ignoring history.

  • Studying the Constitution in great detail learning, this book is a great study read.

It takes the reader from beginning of Constitution to the start and why of the Federalist Papers. Good reading whereas is comprehensively under standable.

  • A Guide to the Constitution

The Federalist Papers are an insight to what the Founding Fathers wanted the Constitution to prevent and allow. Reading the Federalist Papers and comparing the government allowed in the Constitution to the government we have today is a shock to anyone that does not understand what was originally intended. The Federalist Papers should be required reading for college freshmen, perhaps a semester of study would be the beginning of reining in our government. I purchased this copy to show to some of my friends when they want socialist programs to solve their personal problems. I wish their was more information readily available concerning the intent of the Founding Fathers, this publication gives us an insight but leaves many questions unanswered.
