    cool

    Very cool. Not very hard to put together. Hard to get the needle adjusted right (given that the manual is in japanese), but we figured it out. The manual drawings are great, and can be done if you don't read japanese. However, the soldering was not good. Three of the four connections were bad and had to be resoldered because they broke or weren't actual connections. You might need to re-solder it, but it's totally worth it. If you're giving this to a kid (or someone less skilled), follow up with them to make sure they're able to get past these challenges. Very worth it.
