    Gallows Thief

    Bernard Cornwell's book, "Gallows Thief" is one that should be turned into a series of books. Set in the Regency era of England, Cornwell shows those who have and those who have not. The have nots are usually either sent to Australia, or they are hung. In this book the hero must prove that one of the have nots is innocent of killing a titled woman who is definitely one of the haves. Not only must he unravel the mystery of who really did kill her, but he finds along the way that there are those who don't want him to discover the answer. This is an excellent book that will keep you up at night it's so good.

    Once again Bernard Cornwell produced a masterpiece. This is a well written and well researched novel. It holds the reader's attention in a compelling manner. Easy to read action novel. A must for all aficionados of Post Waterloo history . Of general interest to all historians and antiquarians.
