Aside from the disasters, there is much in her memoirs to enjoy; from her tales of travel, to the ships themselves, and to the many characters she met in a fascinating lifetime at sea.

  • Great for maritime history buffs!

Honestly, I haven't read this book yet as I just received it. I don't think you could go wrong with any John Maxtone-Graham book, (the editor). We had the privilege of crossing the Atlantic with the editor and hearing many stories of maritime history. I ordered several of his books and have enjoyed every one of them. This account is amazing because this survivor endured two boat disasters. We heard many of her stories as John Maxtone-Graham talked on the ship. I can't wait to read more of her accounts.

  • Compelling and interesting reading an amazing story of a young woman’s ability to survive and her determination to overcome obstacles

Great story of a woman’s bravery and courage
