Excellent Book For New And Old Cooks!
I originally saw this book at Kohl's during some Christmas shopping and it was still 20 dollars, so I decided I would look on Ebay before paying full price although it would have been worth 20 dollars. I am getting this for my daughter who is soon to be married and can't cook very well. This is like the Home Economic Course, that her school decided wasn't necessary anymore. It breaks things down so newbies can make these items but still old cooks will find new simple recipes that are delicious. It's very colorful and encouraging and includes more modern recipes with healthy lifestyles in mind. It's not your grandma's cookbook. While it does have old favorites in it the book also includes things like hot and sour soup and salads. It teaches you how to hold a knife, what items to have ... I think this would make a wonderful gift for any level cook I am going to buy one for myself and my mother who has been cooking for over 50 years, I think we can both learn from this book!

Easy-peezy recipes
This is a great find for my T-Rex-of-a-teen-kid. The recipes are pretty simple and easy-to-follow…so I’m hoping that this Summer (equipped with this recipe book) that my teen won’t “starve to death” in our well-stocked kitchen. Fingers/eyes crossed! (*gave 4/5 stars due to condition of used book upon receipt)

not JUST for beginners
I bought it for my daughter, who is FINALLY tired of frozen pizzas and fast food and wants to learn to cook. I read through it before I gave it to her - and I want one too! Packed with recipes for real food, clear instructions, and lots of anecdotal information. Good for someone just starting out as well as those who are stuck in a rut. I recommend it highly.
