    Oscar Wilde's fairy tales are wonderful, so my unflattering review rather concerns this edition in particular, which is not only painfully ugly - printed on rough toilet paper of the lowest quality -, but unethical as well !... Two renowned scholars, Mr. Gyles Brandreth and Mr. Jack Zipes, drafting the Introduction and the Afterword, respectively, quote one another - or are they ? - most joyfully, not concerning themselves in the least with copyright infringement, plagiarism and other such trivialities... So I quote Mr. Brandreth's Introduction: " And the Prince and the swallow, what are they but male lovers whose pure love transcends the vulgar values of the petty-minded town councilors? " (p. XV) To which Mr. Zipes' Afterword "echoes" : " [...] the prince and the swallow are clearly male ...
