    All rookie cops were required to read this Joe Wambaugh novel. This was in the early 70's, the book and the motion picture

    Read this work back at its first publication. All new police officers starting off in law enforcement were encouraged to read it. The New Centurions was "required" reading when I was a young cop in the early 1970's. The book is well written, with much emphasis on the personal challenges each officer faced in this book. Written by a former cop with much attention to detail and true police protocol.

    A 1960's Los Angeles crime fighting novel

    Three rookie police deal with crime while juggling money and women troubles. Takes about 18 or 20 hours to read and has some descriptions of sex, violence and strong language.
