The book starts out in early October 2001, when Dominic DiMaggio and Johnny Pesky begin a 1,300-mile trip by car to visit their beloved friend Ted Williams, whom they know is dying.     The Teammates

    I simply loved this book! The story centers around the relationship between four Boston Red Sox Teammates - Ted Williams, Bobby Doerr, Johnny Pesky, and Dominic DiMaggio, as they make a final roadtrip together (sans Doerr) to see Ted Williams for the last time. Excellent author David Halberstam delves into the four player's friendship which spans an incredible sixty years.

    The Teammates by David Halberstram

    There is no one that writes about the human interset side of baseball better than David Halberstram. As always his storytelling was compelling and sensitive. Where he left me a little short on this work was baseball action.

    The Teamates: A Novel of Excellence

    I bought it because I enjoy reading books on baseball legends and this book was from a perspective that I really enjoyed. I would highly recomend this novel to anyone who is a baseball fan.
