Gimme a "T" for Texas, gimme a"T" for Tennessee
This album takes me back to when I saw them live at "The Armadillo World Headquarters" in Austin, Texas. Unfortunately the plane crash occurred about 6 weeks after I saw them, devastating event. Ronnie Van Zant could sure hold a crowd, he was very humble and polite to Austin. They were turning another corner and getting more famous than ever. RIP Ronny. This performance, recorded live at the Fox Theater in Atlanta, captures Skynyrd at the peak of the short-lived career. Steve Gaines was getting comfortable with his new bandmates and the three guitar attack was back and better than ever. Disc 2 includes alternate takes of a number of songs that must have been very close second choices to the ones ultimately included. This shows how tight Skynyrd was becoming musically while still playing with reckless abandon. If you are only going to buy one live performance album by Skynyrd, this in the one. The sound quality is excellent, much better than the soundtrack from Freebird, and Gaines' solo on Sweet Home Alabama makes you shake your head, wondering what great music we were never able to hear due to the crash. A great live album.
The original Skynard was just a great rock and roll act, really one of the best. The addition of the back ground singers was an inspired move, and Ronnie never sounded better or more confident than on this tour with new guitarist Steve Gaines burning it up. Recommended.

. This is one of the best live cd's I have heard. This live One More From The Road Deluxe Edition has enhanced and remastered sound thats better than original album. Some bands are even better live (if that's possible) and Lynyrd Skynyrd is certainly one of them. Irelands Thin Lizzy is another one. I really love original Skynyrd with Ronnie, Gary, Allen, Steve, Leon, Billy, and Artimus, etc. Long Live Southern Rock !!! . This is one of the best live cd's I have heard.
