About this product

Product Information

A highly stylized game filled with enough blood-soaked ultraviolence to make Malcolm McDowell blush, MadWorld drops players in the midst of a twisted sports show known as Death Watch. Created by a group of terrorists who call themselves "The Organizers," Death Watch pits competitors against one another in a gruesome, Running Man-style battle for survival. Gamers step into the role of Jack, a contestant who must master the deadly weapons found in each environment in order to advance. MadWorld makes use of comic-book-inspired black-and-white art, but players can interrupt the monochrome with frequent splashes of crimson blood and viscera. Comedic commentary narrates the over-the-top action as gamers use their Wii Remote and Nunchuk to rack up combos by thrashing enemies and performing brutal finishing moves on hulking bosses. Those looking for human competition can choose to join friends in hot seat mode for a series of violent mini-games known as "Blood Bath Challenges."

An early great for Platinum Games.

Hard to believe that this is a Wii exclusive, definitely rated M for a reason. Gameplay is really fun, most of the game is about combos, but not button mashing combos, combos like slam a tire on someone, then shove a sign through his head, then throw him into something to (finally) kill him and possibly others at the same time. There is a ton of variation with the environment, amount of moves available, and eventually weapons. Lots of swearing from the commentators and soundtrack, which is rap, not sure that it fits the game, but it's not annoying. Overall, if you like Platinum Games or waggling a Wii remote, you'll enjoy this.

  • Short, Yet Very Satisfying

For about the first 10-15 hours you'll spend playing this game, Madworld is one of the most entertaining experiences on the Wii. There are few things more satisfying than using gestures to rip a man in half, or to impale someone in the head with a freakin' signpost. Keeping the mood light are the game's two "commentators" (one of whom voiced Futurama's Bender, while the other was a cast member on "Who's Line Is It Anyway), who provide absolutely hilarious - and filthy - feedback on what's happening on screen. The game is also amazing to look at. The art really emphasizes the blood, which will be splattered across the level by the time you're done. However, a bit after your first runthrough, the kills will begin to seem really repetitive, and you'll really notice how every bad guy has ...

  • Madworld (Wii)

At first glance, this game has been a great deal of fun. Violence to the max and very intuitive controls. I have some concern the gameplay will grow old soon. I can see myself playing this game obsessively for a few weeks, then never touching it again. But who knows... it may evolve as I dig deeper into the story. I haven't seen many used versions of this title being sold, so that is promising.

  • Ehh ... Yeah ... It's Got It's Uses

MadWorld is a cool (though not new) concept. You're in a televised death match with tons of foulmouthed thugs - which you've seen in a movie or five - with the nifty twist of being sponsored to kill them in creative ways. After playing it once through and attempting a second run, my opinion is as follows ... I love the comic style black and white hard-edged graphic work where the only color besides is lots of splashy red blood. Looks - Awesome. Camera control is a little clunky compared to another "slash the masses" game I can think of (good ol' No More Heroes!) but the feel of it once I got used to it was a little more urgent than NMH, which is a good thing. Also, the gestures that I had to do in order to destroy enemies did not have to be as big as in NMH and were therefore easier ...

  • Mad World-Nintendo graphics

This is a good game for people who want a mature game on the Wii which lacks in hat catagory. After playing this game and others on all the systems, I still remain a nintendo fan. I always thought the game cube had the weakest graphics but if you play games like eternal darkness, metriod prime, and others, I actually think the nintendo has the better graphics on all there systems. Look at Monster Hunter Tri for the Wii, graphics are amazing. Anyways, this game is sort of like Sin city the movie on in a game in a way withe black and white with colors added. For the price it's worth it.
