About this product

Product Information

Plymouth is known worldwide as "America's Hometown," landing place of the Pilgrims in 1620 and home of the first Thanksgiving, but the real story of the town is a tale of grim beginnings. A ghostly Victorian couple is known to wander Burial Hill, plague, desperation, massacre, murder and fear loom. A shocking crime on Leyden Street, one of the oldest streets in America, still haunts the area. The crew of the brigantine General Arnold, trapped offshore during an icy eighteenth-century blizzard, are suspected to haunt not one but three locations. Author Darcy H. Lee exposes the haunting acts that lie beneath Plymouth's cherished history.

  • A lot of History With a Tiny Bit of Ghost Stories Mixed In.

If you are looking for a book with just ghost stories in it this may not be for you. The chapters are long and contain mostly historic information with a little bit about ghosts on the side. Like the first chapter is about 14 pages and only the last paragraph mentions a ghost. The author seems to be trying to debunk, in a round about way, the ghost stories which gets rather annoying by the 4th chapter. The history part can also get pretty long winded and repetitive. After reading the 1st chapter I was so disappointed in this book because I was looking for ghost stories with a bit of history mixed, not the other way around, hence the 3 stars. The book is well written and I like the pictures and learning more of Plymouth's history is nice just not what I expected from a book called 'Ghosts ...

  • Fascinating ghost stories and history

Eyewitness accounts of ghosts backed up by historical evidence, paranormal research, and sessions with a psychic. I learned a lot more about Plymouth. This book makes me want to visit again.
