Das Sega Master System II ist ein Videospiel-System aus der dritten Konsolen-Generation. Im Inneren der grauen Konsole sorgt der 8-bit Zilog Z80 Prozessor mit einer Taktfrequenz von 3,54 MHz für die Berechnung der Spiele. Dem Hauptprozessor stehen 8 KB an Arbeitsspeicher zur Seite. Darüber hinaus besitzt die Konsole einen 16 KB großen internen ROM, auf dem sich das Betriebssystem befindet. Spiele werden über externe Module geladen und die Daten auf selbigen gespeichert. Das Sega MS II ist mit dem westeuropäischen PAL-Signal kompatibel und kann an TV-Geräten angeschlossen werden, die diesen Standard unterstützen. Erzeugt wird das Videosignal vom Texas Instruments TMS9918-Grafikchip. Dieser ist in der Lage, 32 Farben aus einer Palette von 64 Farben gleichzeitig darzustellen, und unterstützt Bildschirmauflösungen bis 256x240 Pixel. Es können bis zu 64 Sprites simultan dargestellt werden und diese können bis zu 8x16 Pixel groß sein. Die Sega Master System II Grau Spielkonsole (PAL) besitzt 16 KB an Videopuffer zur Speicherung der Bilddaten und das Bild kann sowohl horizontal, vertikal als auch diagonal verschoben werden. Der Soundprozessor im Sega MS II stammt ebenfalls von Texas Instruments und hört auf den Namen SN76489. Dieser ist in der Lage, 4-Kanal-mono-Sound zu erzeugen. Am Gehäuse des Sega Master System II findet man neben dem Schacht für die Spielmodule auch den Startschalter. An der Front besitzt das Videospiel-System zudem zwei Anschlüsse für die Controller.

    ohne vollständige Lieferung nicht nutzbar

    Da das wichtigste Teil, das TV-Kabel, nicht dabei war, kann ich das Gerät garnicht testen. Der Verkäufer bot mir erst an den Kauf rückgängig zu machen und dann wollte er mir dieses fehlende Kabel nachsenden, was bis heute leider noch nicht eingetroffen ist.
