a little difficult
the item so far does what it is supposed to do lowers the tail gate slowly. The nut to attach the bolt to the tailgate side is very weak and was difficult to install and after several attempts I was able to get it to tighten other then this installation was very simple. The tool they give you to use for taking out the t45 nut is not well made so get your own and the only bad side so far to the working part of it is the shock and the cable rub and get caught when you close the tailgate so you have to use two hands to close it but only one to open as described. over all its good for the price but still leery on how it will lastthe item so far does what it is supposed to do lowers the tail gate slowly. Shipping: Great. Installation: Easy. Mechanics: Poor. When closing the tailgate the Gate rubs the shock. There is no space between the shock and gate? I would think there would be at least a small gap there. Operation is fine and the Wife loves it. I don't know how long the shock will last with pressure on it all the time in the closed position. This kit is easy to install and helps with the infamous tailgate weight. My wife is on the shorter side and the newer pickups are taller so when she opens the tailgate it is very heavy! I have seen some people get hit by the opening of the geavy tailgates. This makes it very safe to open even the heaviest tailgates. Since it opens at a controlled rate. A great product! I was lucky to find this product. I have a standard model truck, without a lot of bells and whistles. This addition is a real help to me (normal sized man) and my wife. Both od us frequently use the truck for light load work. The "Slow Descent" of the tailgate is a nice addition, and the price is right. VERY EASY to install. We'll have this on any future truck. Just a word of caution, Ebay's Part-checker MIS-IDENTIFIED the model number appropriate for my truck. This is the right one, but I ordered the other one, which EBAY said "This will fit your truck" but a simple call to the manufacturer identified the correct (matching) part number.I was lucky to find this product.
