Pushes Two 10 subs fine.
I doubt its 2000 watts - most likely 300 watts. 30amp fuse. there's math to do. but as I had a pyramid amp from the early 90s that powered a single sub at full gain for 20 plus years.. I figured 20 years later there has got to be some improvement.. and well - not much. But I hope this one will last another 20 years. At half gain with "12" on ("0" "9" "12" switch for gain boost) there is a good amp push of watts to the subs. they "bump" at this level like a medium grade sound system should. Mind you this is with the settings set at high. the amp does get hot if left at this level for long- one would assume if left "bumping" loud like this for extended time, one would burn out the amp. it has no fans or serious vents. just little slits on the sides, At this level of "bumping" I can not hear ... Worst amp ever made
First off mounting the amp takes a magnetic screw driver and is of the poorest design I've ever seen. Secondly the terminal connections are recessed in a pretty narrow channel so you you need to really take time to shield each connection so they don't ground out against the metal frame. Lastly once you do all of that the thermal protection is entirely too sensitive at half volume it shuts down because it doesn't like the draw. I will never waste my money with pyramid again, it might as well be a 150 watt amp with how it acts. Great Amp, But?
It Is A Great Amp, Its Worth The Price, It Is Affordable Than Other Brands. But The Problem Is, It Goes Into Protection Mode Alot If It Goes 3/4 Above Of The Volume My Radio Can Give.. I Have It Hooked Up To 2 Subs, Both Are 4 Ohms And Single Voice Coils. One Is A Dual Brand 500 Watts Sub And The Other One Is A 1600 Watts Boss Sub.
