I study kuk sool hapkido under the NKMAA (kyosa (2nd dahn)) and most of these hyung are the originals of our simpler hapkido variations (hkd does not have their own forms) where stances are identical but the blocks are modified. I can say this: the movements in these hyung are what you would expect from a person testing for about a yellow or an orange belt. The stances are atrocious; the movements are unbalanced, imprecise, and, generally, uncoordinated for the most part; the strikes and blocks are pretty sloppy. When the so-called instruction part is done, he does not say what the movements specifically are step-by-step. These dvds, I think, are not instructional unless you are familiar with Tang Soo So stances and blocks. They seem to be more a reference set, just as, in quality ...
