The Sony Alpha NEX-5 digital camera with 18-55mm lens combines the capability of Digital SLR technology with convenient interchangeable lenses in a neat design that can be carried easily in a pocket or bag. The Alpha NEX-5 is ‘mirrorless’, bringing the thickness of the camera to just 24.2mm at its slimmest point. The camera features a re-designed Exmor APS HD CMOS sensor with 14.2 effective megapixels. This makes it a much larger sensor than that usually found inside a compact camera and therefore makes the extremely low image noise and creative defocus effects normally found on DSLRs possible. A powerful Bionz processor enables even higher quality of still and video images – the Sony Alpha NEX-5 can capture the action at up to 7fps.

    Great budget point and shoot zoom to supplement a smartphone.

    Old and "outdated" but still works and takes great pictures. A great little camera to throw in a backpack to supplement smartphone photos. While my Pixel 4 takes great pictures, it just doesn't have the reach of a longer lens. The beauty of these cameras is that you can pick them up cheap with a lens included and the lenses work quite well on the newer A6xxx series bodies. I bought this one specifically for the lens.
