The Three Stooges Collection - Vol. 3
Excellent, well produced disc with cleaned up video and audio... and with each short presented in chronological order. This is classic American pop-culture, and most only recognize them for their slap-stick... Their between the lines jokes, double-entendre, and play on words only enhances their status as comedic icons. Love them or hate them, it's hard to ignore their impact on American comedy, the short film genre, and the comfort of silliness and a good laugh. (My only gripe with the Collection discs as a whole... is why Sony felt the need to put their loud, grating logo "bump" at the conclusion of each and every short. The third Sony DVD collection of The Three Stooges contains loads and loads of laughs...if you're not a Stooge fan, you just might be after watching some of these slapstick gems... These shorts cover the years just before and immediately after America's entry into World War Two. While the war rolled the Great Depression away fairly completely, there were new problems to cause even more anxiety...most everyone had sons and husbands called into military service, so laughter was more needed than ever. Larry Fine, Moe Howard and Curly Howard were on the scene to help handle that need. In this riotous set, there are 23 of the Stooges' craziest shorts-like the Nazi roasting parodies "You Nazty Spy" and "I'll Never Heil Again", in which the boys play ... The third Sony DVD collection of The Three Stooges contains loads and loads of laughs...if you're not a Stooge fan, you just might be after watching some of these slapstick gems... These shorts cover the years just before and immediately after America's entry into World War Two. Other hilarious shorts included in this set are-"A Plumbing We Will Go", "Cookoo Cavaliers", "All the World's a Stooge", "In the Sweet Pie and Pie", "Cactus Makes Perfect" (wherein the boys are dealt one of the best triple-slaps of all the shorts), and "Sock-a-Bye Baby". All the shorts on this set are a riot, these are just my favorites. Credit should also be given to those often-uncredited supporting actors/actresses, including Vernon Dent, Symona Boniface, Bud Jamison, Stanley Blystone, Cy Schindell, John Tyrell, Al Thompson, Dorothy Appleby, Eddie Laughton, James C. Morton, and Richard Fiske, who were nearly Stooges themselves and added so much to the shorts. You'll love this collection...do yourself a favor and buy it-and get ready to nyuck! 5*****

Should You Buy It? COINTENALT!!!!!
The shorts on this particular dvd, the three Stooges were at the top of their game. My favorite short is in this collection " You Nasty Spy". Mo portrays Hitler, and Curley is the dictator of Italy. This short was made in 1940, and it beat Chaplin's "The Great Dictator" to the movie theatre. If you enjoy watching the Three Stooges, definitely purchase volume 3.
