I like this phone
I bought mine back in January 2009...and yes, it's August 2016. I am still using it. I had over year ago that I needed to by a new battery (so in 2015) as the original one from 2009 got to the point that I would have to charge it every single day. This new battery seem to be still holding up...although, I admit, I use this phone as an emergency phone. Meaning, I don't call up every second of my friend and talk on it for hours! I only call on it I really need to...which luckily barely. I can email/message on FB to my friends, no need to waste money on talking and talking and talking. Better to meet up then and talk. Anyway, I had absolutely no problem with this phone, with the except of this stupid PTT button that is so easy to initiate. The good side, it does ask you to confirm if you ... It's camera is not too good having a 1.3 megapixel capacity...but again, I'm also not one of those freaks who have to take a selfie every second from sitting on the toilet, to washing dishes. ;) The only drawback is that a few months ago it started not being able to load up the full screen when flipping it open....not always does it, but sometimes. As one mentioned, probably the little cable is starting to shift or wear out causing it shorting sometimes. Then I have to close it back, wait a bit and try again opening it in the hopes that it will load the full screen back. Sometimes it takes multiple tries. This started only a few months ago, but I should not complain...after 7 years of noble service this is its only fault that it has accumulated. I think for a phone this is a great life span. I hear people whose iPhone 5s acting up already because it's "too old"....yeah...I am regretting the day when eventually I will have to retire this fella as I do like it. And I am only hoping maybe someone can either replace, or fix up the little cable that runs along the hinge and then this phone can serve me for another 7 years? :) I'm a cheap college student, and honestly, I wouldn't trade this guy for any smart phone...those are big, bulky, have to have a bigass otter case to prevent the screen shattering into pieces with one drop...I dropped mine sooooooooo many times, I am amazed it just started to have minor screen loading issues only a few months back...

The LG cu515 by AT&T
I like the LG cu515. It is easy to use and also works as a pretty good music player. I already had one and my daughter needed a cell phone and a MP3 player. I didn't want to sign a new two yr. contract with my cell phone company, and my daughter and I really only use our phones for emergency calls and short calls, and of course now she has a music player and cell phone all in one. Although, this particular phone can be used for texting and data services we are not big on that. So for the price and convenience, EBay was a perfect place to shop. There was only one problem. I have lost my manual and the new phone didn't come with one and I can't find the instruction manual online. emphasis on "pretty" good
The phone is a pretty good one. It is the typical easy to use LG however, it does possess a couple of minor flaws such as the exterior screen "black" and cannot view pictures for ID or similar. The odd speaker button on the back of the device is really pointless, too, as it has the same function during the call with the center button. I also expected it to be a drop thinner; it seems kind of bulky in my pocket(but that's just my personal opinion). Other than that, though, it is pretty good and, contrary to CNET.com's video review it does have a satisfactory music player.The phone is a pretty good one. The good: The LG CU515 offers a simple, user-friendly design, decent call quality, and a solid feature set that includes 3.5G support, Push to Talk, stereo Bluetooth, and world phone capability. The bad: The LG CU515 has a disappointing external display and it lacks a camera flash and voice dialing. Photo and streaming video quality were uneven. The bottom line: The LG CU515 is great for making calls, but it's not AT&T's best cell phone for multimedia and wireless broadband use.The good: The LG CU515 offers a simple, user-friendly design, decent call quality, and a solid feature set that includes 3.5G support, Push to Talk, stereo Bluetooth, and world phone capability. Regrets
I bought this to replace an old Motorola v551 with battery issues. I liked the design and it seemed a bit more solid than the RAZR. I liked the large screen on the flip side, the large, easy to read keypad, and the slim feel in my hand. I also saw the battery life was rated well for talk and standby time. The speakerphone has an excellent volume. Though it has a large color screen on the inside, the text is too small with no option for enlarging it. The outside display is B&W and could have been larger. I almost immediately ran into annoyances. The PushToTalk button is located on the side of the phone. You almost can't help but activate it when you open the phone to answer a call. Opening it is also not as easy as you'd expect. The design gives no "grab" area for a thumb to lift the ... Expect to use two hands. At least it prompts you to decide if you want to be charged for PTT before it connects. There is no way to disable this function from activating. Just before writing this I got off the phone with my provider. The tech "thinks" he might have found a way and is going to email me the instructions. I can only hope. Internet connection is way too easy to inadvertently start. Too many options for connecting and I'm not really appreciative of my phone loaded with connections to the their Internet Mall where they try to sell you something. Navigation isn't easy. Nothing seems to be simple. Menus to scroll through and I have yet to find a way to reassign the keys because the user manual, though thick, is poorly written in giving instructions. It tells you what the phone CAN do, but doesn't give stepped instructions on how to get it done. Print so small, I can barely read it. I also have a data cable for it, but it doesn't seem to accept downloads from my computer of MP3 music. If you ever used Motorola Tools and are familiar with the simple procedure for downloading music and photos to your phone, don't expect anything simple with this phone. Speaking of music, it has 10 preloaded ring styles. I don't like any of them, but until I figure out how to get my own music in this phone, I'm stuck. Volume during a speakerless conversation is good, though voice quality isn't the best. My old v551 sounded better. Bluetooth: You'd think it wouldn't be a big deal, but I have 3 separate earpieces I keep in different environments I may be in. This phone found and accepted my first one, but refuses to accept, or even find my other two. Don't know if this is intentional, but now I have to make sure my earpiece is fully charged at all times because I can't switch out to any of my others. Overall, it is a great phone for those who just want a simple phone to make and receive calls, but for those who plan on personalizing it, using it for pictures, music, texting, and all that can be done with cell phones these days... it is only a GOOD phone, that could have been designed better - both its' functionality and user friendliness. Maybe the next version will see improvements. This one had potential, but fell short.
