Interesting watch
I bought one of these based on some videos I saw about them. There are some things I wish I’d known before I bought one. Nothing bad, just things I wish I’d known. The crown is very wobbly. I thought it was defective but I guess this is a design element on the Vostok watches. Apparently it prolongs the watch’s life. The bezel does not click like most other watches. It rotates and stays in place but doesn’t click. Don’t go from the position where you adjust time directly to where you wind it. Adjust the time, push the crown back in and screw it down then unscrew it and then wind it. The strap that came with it was not the greatest and was extremely small for my rather large wrist. I ended up buying a NATO strap for it and it is comfortable to wear and very lightweight. This is not a ... I bought one of these based on some videos I saw about them. Overall value is ok
The watch is smaller than I expected and the bigger crown seems to be accentuated by the watch size. The power reserve of approximately 31 hours is okay but not superb which is one reason I chose the no date option. I also think they could have spent a little bit more and extend the seconds hands to the markers as it looks too short. The price of the watch is excellent but it is offset by the cost of shipping and the shipping time. My Vostok watches always make me smile!
This is my 3rd Vostok and I love each for their quirkiness, good looks and dependability! The fit and finish of this watch, like my others, is right on. While it does need correcting the time occasionally. I only see the need to do it every couple of weeks. I know I could take off the back and adjust it but I am happy with it as it is. My experience with Vostok.... they are VERY reliable, trouble-free and I especially like that they make me smile when I look at them on my wrist. I have had a number of good comments about my Vostok watches and I like to tell their story.This is my 3rd Vostok and I love each for their quirkiness, good looks and dependability! ONE OF THE COOLEST OF THE VOSTOK AMPHIBIA DESIGNS OUT THERE
if you're reading this then you probably know all about the vostok amphibia all steel military russian divers. the price is insane for something with these qualifications, and the styles are numerous and great. basically a pretty unmodified descendant of the original ussr soviet divers of the 60s-80s. the case styles have expanded a bit and the bezels too. unfortunately the bezels are not really easy to read despite how stylish they often are, but voila you can always get an aftermarket seiko style diver bezel for these here on ebay for not much money, and swap. they are bi-directional bezels. as to THiS watch, it is one of the most amazing of all the vostok amphibias you'll find. if you don't know watch history, i'll reveal that this is an eye-deceiving look alike for the super famous ... if you're reading this then you probably know all about the vostok amphibia all steel military russian divers. the price is insane for something with these qualifications, and the styles are numerous and great. basically a pretty unmodified descendant of the original ussr soviet divers of the 60s-80s. the case styles have expanded a bit and the bezels too. unfortunately the bezels are not really easy to read despite how stylish they often are, but voila you can always get an aftermarket seiko style diver bezel for these here on ebay for not much money, and swap. they are bi-directional bezels. as to THiS watch, it is one of the most amazing of all the vostok amphibias you'll find. if you don't know watch history, i'll reveal that this is an eye-deceiving look alike for the super famous blancpain 50 fathoms watches of the 50s, which actually predate the rolex submariner and from which rolex pretty much took their now iconic diver styling from. so, if you think this is a rolex style knock off vostok, it is better than that. it is...let's call it an 'homage' to the blancpain 50 fathoms. while you won't mistake the two for each other up close, it is not meant to be a replica ripoff, but rather a great homage piece that looks tremendous on your wrist. final note for those who don't know these vostoks, the movements require YOUR movement to keep wound, but they are windable (unlike basic seiko diver watches). these will in all likelyhood run very accurately for 15 years without any servicing at all. i would not recommend doing that as mechanicals should be serviced every 5 years, but the movements can be purchased, again on ebay, so inexpensively that you could simply purchase another one in 5-10 years and replace it. so easy you could do it yourself, though you'd have to change over the dial and hands, which you would need a watchmaker for unless you are an expert. still, that makes this a super inexpensive watch to own and maintain. and it looks super...especially this version. yes, i do have it.
