About this product

Product Information

In the Antarctic, scientists uncover 20,000-year-old seed pods, a no-doubt exciting find. When it turns out that they are actually deadly Krynoids, however, everyone wishes they had been left alone. When the Krynoids germinate, they become rapacious killing machines. Doctor Who (Tom Baker) tries to avert catastrophe once again, this time battling with an insane English millionaire intent on adding the creatures to his world-renown botanical collection.

Exactly as described,Looks good-fast shipping,A+ Great product value for its age! Excellent communication. They put a small 2” square of small bubble wrap or folded paper inside the cases on the CD’s at the hub to keep them from bouncing loose during shipping and scratching!!! Now I just need time to watch & listen to all the CD’s & movies I won!

    Classic!

One of my favorites from the classic era! Tom is at times somber, funny and on the verge of madness in a race to prevent am alien pod that came out of the ground during a exploration, from wreaking havoc on Earth. It takes possession of the first human it comes into contact with and can't be stopped. Harrison Chase, the billionaire villain who wants the pod for his own in a weird, fetish styled obsession with plant life, is truly memorable for his delivery of lines and on screen charisma. His home, a Victorian styled manor is the perfect playground for this style's resolution and fits the Doctor Who vibe.

  • Top critical review

No Region 2 (Europe) for a UK DVD is very BAD!

I could not play this dvd in my dvd player or any other tv player. It only could be looked on one of my PC's. I was lucky that that BD player wasn't Region Protected. I didn't expect this to happen from a series that in England would be PAL and Region 2 there also. Selling this DVD with Region protection is just plain stupid. I won't buy any DVD's anymore on Ebay.

  • One of Baker's best!

The Seeds of Doom is an engaging story that features great performances, great sets and most importantly, a great story. This one is often overlooked, but in recent years has made it onto more and more "Best Doctor Who Episodes" lists, particularly when discussing the classic show. Highly recommended, along with other Tom Baker gems such as Genesis of the Daleks, Horror of Fang Rock, Pyramids of Mars, City of Death, The Ark In Space, The Talons of Weng Chiang, The Brain of Morbius, The Android Invasion and The Deadly Assassin.

  • Alien Plant Monsters Hate Pensions!

The Doctor and current companion Sarah Jane Smith are called in to serve as advisers on a recent discovery made by some World Ecology Bureau scientists down in Antarctica. It seems that they found a bizarre-looking seed pod in a layer of ice and think it is extraterrestrial in origin. The Doctor confirms this when he recognizes the pod as belonging to a Krynoid, a parasitic alien weed. He and Sarah Jane race to Antarctica by helicopter (not by TARDIS, weirdly) only to find they're too late: team member Winlett has been stung and infected by a vine which grew from the pod after it thawed out, and it is slowly transforming him into a half human, half plant monster. Krynoid pods always travel in pairs, the Doctor says, and sure enough, he, Sarah Jane and Stevenson, one of the scientists, ...
