    Nocturnus Ahead of they're time!!

    I bought this on cassette tape when I was 15 this was light years ahead of it's time keyboards shredding solos and heavy Death metal this Album was the forerunner to bands like Dimmu Borgir,Cradle of Filth, Septic Flesh,and many other Symphonic Metal bands (Not to mention former Morbid Angel Drummer Mike Browning on the drums/vocals) .

    A fantastic album

    NOCTURNUS' The Key plays semi-progressive death metal with a highly sophisticated sci-fi concept assisted with keyboards. The Key is a stunning powerhouse of highly developed technical extreme metal. Guitars play crushingly heavy riffs, fast tremolo picking, and screaming shredding solos in addition to the spacy and eerie keyboard sounds. Davis and McNenney play a hefty MORBID ANGEL styled barrage of riffing coupled with thrash metal techniques introduced by both METALLICA and MEGADETH. Tunes such as Lake Of Fire, Standing In Blood, and the most progressive song, Empire Of The Sands are excellent examples of why this is such a tremendous album.
