    A Mixed Bag

    The standup segment was terrific—Steven Wright isn't just a great talent, he's a unique one. The film that followed was, I'm afraid, a disappointment, The clips that rounded out the DVD were interesting but nothing to write home about.

    Steven Wright - When the Leaves Blow (2007, DVD)

    Steven Wright is hands down the polytheistic god of deadpan humor. Without batting an eye or a twitch of his lips, he can tell you his dog was raped to death by a banana wielding clown on ecstasy. In this movie you see his independent short film "One Soldier" and experience through his eyes how he perceives life and death. Also you see some early stand-up and set of some of his funniest material ever. It is a must have for anyone who enjoys comedic genius.

    Interesting but not engrossing. Less funny than earlier works.

    First half was interesting, last half was not, too political.He has not aged well. I had also purchased a much earlier VHS of Wright, doing a college session, very fresh, innovative and funny. This later Cd left a lot to be desired.

    Funny stuff!

    Classic Steven Wright style on this DVD. "I'm addicted to placebos. I could quit...but it wouldn't make a difference." "It seems wrong to me that only one company makes the game MONOPOLY." Our family enjoyed it.
