      Interesting Murder cases with great scenery.

      The various murder cases keep you guessing as to who did it. Main actors do a great job in portraying their characters. Some of scene shots are amazing and the views are sometimes pretty awesome. The dialect is a bit hard to understand so you have to concentrate hard to hear what they are saying.

      Shetland would be better if characters spoke understandable English

      The stories are good, the main character (Jimmy Perez) is a likable guy, and the location is beautiful. Unfortunately these American ears could not decipher much of the dialogue. Jimmy's associate, a woman who looks ready to burst into tears at any moment, has such a thick accent I could not understand a word she said. I was engaged enough to watch all of Seasons 1 and 2, but will not be watching season 3 if there is one.

      Shetland Seasons 1 & 2

      Up front . . . the video series differs significantly from the books. Both are enjoyable though. I would recommend watching the videos first (the scenery is breathtaking), THEN reading the books in chronological order.

      GREAT TV SERIES, SMART AND CLEVER

      Great TV Series. Production is awesome and Det. Jimmy Perez (Henshall) is a bright and his techniques for investigating are a mixture of intelligence and his own personality. He knows how to control his emotions and gets the job done! I love the fact that filming takes place in Scotland and Shetland. Love the accent too..it immerses me in the characters. I started watching it in Netflix (only has 2 seasons) and ended up buying Seasons 1-5, because I cannot wait until Netflix decides to update the series. Watch it, u won't be disappointed!!
