About this product

Product Information

EA Sports' blockbuster football series is back with Madden NFL 08. Focusing on "weapons," in game events, and features from previous titles, Madden NFL 08 offers gamers another chance to create a dream season alone or in multiplayer competitions. The "weapons" concept returns, and gamers can now locate dangerous players by reading weekly scouting reports, watching player introductions, and by using trigger buttons before the snap on the field. There are a total of 24 different "weapons" and they include big hitters, defensive linemen, running backs, and catch receivers. Each "weapon" has a counter-weapon that gamers must uncover in order to bring a potentially destructive competitor down. However, by completing the mini-games in "Franchise" or "Owner" mode, players can alter the attributes for each team member.

On the field, a number of events return including hurdles, player celebrations, and defensive hot routes. Now when a competitor is gearing up to lunge for the legs of the ball carrier, gamers can hurdle over them and avoid going down. After jumping over his adversary, the carrier can then make his way to the end zone for a touchdown and a celebration animation. Gamers can select from 60 different signature moves including Chad Johnson's "River Dance," Rex Grossman's "Gator Chomp," and Dante Hall's "X." In the trophy room, players can revisit victories by viewing awards for rushing and passing records and multiplayer competitions. Additionally, gamers can now create different rings to earn as they progress through the game.

    Oldie, but a Goodie

This fame is the best cersion of Madden on Gamecube, and possibly of the entire series. The graphics are nice but the game plays wonderfully. Yhe defenses in the game actually work and running the ball is actually good. If you own a gamecube or any other system that this was released on, I recommend giving it a shot.

  • Madden NFL 08 (Game Cube)

This is most likely the last game they are making for this system (Game Cube). I have always enjoyed this system, and am sorry to see it go the way as my Sega Genesis system went years ago. It seems they make a great system, the next thing you know, it is going off the market for a newer system, that may not be as good as the original GameCube. I tried the new system, it had too many problems, so I shall be one of the few out here who will still enjoy their GameCube. At present, I have nothing good to say about the new Wii system. It just has too many problems that come with it, as do all the other new systems. I have spoken with the pros on this topic, and they tell me that more than likely, the GameCube will go down in Nintendo's game system history as one of the greatest systems ...

  • It's Madden 08

Madden 08 is the best sports game, and puts every other Madden to shame, I become sadden when not playing Madden 08.

  • The last good Nintendo Football Game

I bought this game because it had the latest up to date rosters for the gamecube. The Graphics aren't a change from the previous editions but yet somehow are way better than the Wii! I was disappointed with '09 on the Wii for both gameplay but especially graphics. Unfortunately this was the last game they made for the Gamecube in the Madden series. I guess if I want to continue I'll have to pick up an xbox360 or ps3, boohoo. Butt I love the gameplay and graphics for this game. Looks like I'll have to find a way to delete Brett Favre since he retired!

  • Good Football fun on the Cube

pretty good game play considering this is formated for Nintendo's last generation system. i was happy to discover this game was actually made available for this old and outdated system. no complants. the game move along quickly and loading time is not too bad. playing this game made me feel like my Cube still had a little life left in 'em.
