    Motorola External Cable Modem (SB4200)

    I returned the cable company's rent-a-modem 2 hours after unpacking the Motorola. I have dynamic IP svc (unfortunately), so all that was required for setup was plugging it in and rebooting. (A call to the cable service was required to register the unit MAC ID). The DOCSIS 1.0 certification assures you it will work with most any cable provider, and the downloadable upgrade to DOCSIS 1.1 standard is simple. Also, I like the choice of ethernet (RJ14) or USB connectivity and the new "standby" switch. Lastly, the internal transformer means the power plug is a normal size, so it can be plugged in on my desk without hogging the whole powerstrip. Nice modem, nice price!

    my hard to please nephew liked this product.

    i told my nephew to shop for a christmas gift for himself as i was unable to get out to do it myself. Plus he is difficult if not impossible to please. He chose to shop on e-bay so i set up an account with a spending limit. He shopped carefully and decided on this unit. believe you me if he were not 100% happy with it he would have sent it back in a heartbeat. Think I will let him shop again next year on e-bay.

    Great product, excellent++++++++++++++++++++++

    Great product. Have purchased over 60 ytd. No problems with the product. Has always worked straight out of the box. On several occassions i programed it for a special use project and its excellent. I would highly recommend it.

    Great product, very happy with it and the ease of setup

    I purchased the Surfboard because I was paying a rental fee on one from the local cable company. By purchasing my own modem, I managed to save more than the rental fee cost me for one month. And now, it works fantastic, couldn't ask for anything better.
