  • SCARS OF DRACULA - A Brutal Entry in the Hammer Series

I grew up in the 1960s eagerly awaiting the next Hammer fright film to arrive in my hometown theatre. I was particularly excited if it was a Dracula or Frankenstein film, and even more pumped up if it starred Christopher Lee or Peter Cushing. When SCARS OF DRACULA came to town, I was full of great anticipation and excitement. SCARS OF DRACULA is one the most violent and graphic of all Hammer's Dracula films, with Christopher Lee's portrayal of the Lord of the Undead particularly brutal and sadistic. It is also one of the few Hammer Dracula films in which the title character actually gets dialogue and a fair amount of screen time. For this reason, it is one of my favorite Hammer films. First of all, the film does have some pretty obvious shortcomings. The sets do not ...

  • Welcome to my Humble Abode.

Witness courtesy and evil intertwined as never before with this outstanding performance from Christopher Lee! Accompanied by a great story sorely missing from recent horror movie attempts!

  • A good addition to anyone's Hammer and Dracula collection.

An excellent must-have for anyone's Hammee Dracula collection. The two disc item offers more for your dollar, and is worth paying extra. It was a good portrayal of Christopher Lee as Dracula, ibeit the make-up was rather noticeable. Overall, a fun and slightly brutal movie.

  • Classic Christopher Lee

Until SF releases the blu ray to this bad boy on 09/10/19 this is the edition to get. The bonus disc is a must have and seeing as (IMO) Scars was the bloodiest in the series, this is a no brainers if you can snag it

  • Scars of Dracula (2001, DVD)

Other than Christopher Lee's First Outting as Dracula In "Horror Of Dracula", "Scars of Dracula" stands as my favorite of the 8 times Lee has put on the cape & fangs! The violence level is much higher in this one than in the previous films in the series. The action is much more intense & faster paced as well. Overall, this is one of Hammers finest films, in my opinion (and I have seen/own virtually ALL of the Hammer Horror films now).
